Stillness Allows Us to Hear, to Know, to Be

We find our way with greater grace and ease when we are able to hear the voice of our soul. When we cannot hear our inner voice, we tend to lose our way - we tend to get tangled up in which way to go - we tend to feel stuck or feel afraid.

Stillness returns us to our connection with self.

The ego mind frequently struggles against the stillness for stillness is not quiet; rather, stillness is deafening. This is particularly true if we have not cultivated a practice that allows us to go inside and connect. However, that connection is only ever a heartbeat and a few conscious breaths away.

And the voice of our souls are always waiting in love to be received.

What will you receive from your soul today?

stillness.

the pause

between heartbeats

between the in and out breath

is where stillness lives.

it’s the mere silence of an empty

room.

it’s the hush washing in before a

storm.

stillness arrives

wraps you in the warmth of rest,

pressing against you

with a pause you would rather fill.

even in resistance

stillness is generous.

it may open the hands you

clenched shut.

and soften the thoughts that

crippled your mind

and remind you what the voice

sounds like from inside

stillness holds you

stillness is enough.

and when movement returns,

let it rise from a place of knowing

and not from the fear of stopping.
