The Body is Key to Enlightenment
The Divine Feminine Oracle, by Meggan Watterson
Today, we are reminded that enlightenment is not becoming divine inspite of being human, rather, it is becoming fully human and divine. This means that the body is not something to be eschewed, it is something to be revered and honored. Indeed, the body has extraordinary wisdom to share with us, that we often ignore or disregard.
Yeshe Tsogyal teaches that the “human body is all that is needed for enlightenment.” This is another calling to go within. It is also why there are and have been mysteries schools focused on tantra and sex magic, among other things. It is about honor and respect for our physicality from the realization that all that we are and touch is part of the divine.
The disconnection from the body also results from the Illusion of Separation and the fear it engenders. This has been weaponized against all sexes and genders in different ways for the purposes of manipulation and control. We often focus on the divine feminine as it is this energy that is rising within our individual and collective awareness, however, the divine masculine is just as significant - and both exist within each and everyone of us. In addition, we often treat our bodies as the scape goats and attempt to control them when we are unable to control other aspects of our lives.
Through the magic of the body, we are invited to free ourselves from the limitations of reality in the old paradigm. Tantra and sex magic are just two examples of weaving together the sacred and the mundane to open us to the greater truth of who we are - both human and divine.
Reverence and connection with the body need not be sexual. Rather, breath is the main way to connect with our bodies - it is the literal embodiment of Spirit. Breath means Spirit and is essential to life. Breath itself is pleasure.
Through whatever means, connecting with the body results in inviting its profound wisdom forth into our lives and opening us to infinite possibilities.
Take the time to breathe deeply into your heart space and invite forth the presence of your guidance team. Ask them to support you in connecting with your body.
Are there blocks - known or unknown - that are hindering your connection with your body?
What are your belief patterns around your body?
Are you willing to recognize your body as the gift it is?
Do you treat your body as a temple?
Do you treat your body as a partner? Or, do you see your body as betraying you?
Are you willing to allow yourself to feel the bliss and intoxication that comes from the full connection with your physicality?
The mantra of this card is: “Embodiment is the deepest bliss. My body was made for enlightenment.” In what ways are you willing to open to this as you walk through your day today? What is revealed to you as you do?
