What Do You Choose Today?

We are so accustomed to participating in life from a place of avoiding or pushing against what we do not like. We accomodate ourselves and tolerate all sorts of things often saying to ourselves, “well, it’s not that bad” or “it could be worse.”

It becomes so deeply habituated that we often lose track of what we actually do like.

This sparks today’s invitation.

As you go through your day today, ask yourself: “what do I like?” And, “what do I want?”

Listen for what immediately comes up. Does your brain immediately begin to search for ways of why that is not possible, why you do not deserve, why that will be hard, why that will be a challenge, etc?

Or, do you immediately begin to figure out how to bring that to yourself?

Do you move forward into action or do you then begin to list of the foregoing questions/“reasons why not” in your mind?

As you ask the questions - what do I like and what do I want? - multiple times during the day today, what do you observe about you?

Do you notice subtle judgments?

Do you notice other forms of resistance?

Do you notice yourself pushing against anything?

Do you notice that you do not know what you like?

Do you notice that asking yourself what you want feels overwhelming? Or, perhaps, it feels irritating?

Do you notice your inner child(ren) having opinions about what they want or do not?

What surfaces for you?

We are being asked to embrace more of an active stance in life - this is consciousness - this is creation. This invites us to take the wheel by becoming aware of our beliefs and programs so that we can release and rewire ourselves. It is an invitation into a joy-filled life where we can have, do, and be all that we are and all that we desire - which in its alignment is also how we are best of service in this world as if by magical synergy. ;)

This is also great a practice in anticipation of the powerful Full Moon in Scorpio coming this Friday for it will assist us in seeing into our shadows and subconscious so that we may release even more of what is no longer serving us and make room for more of our inner light to shine.

As this lovely quote from Abraham-Hicks further elucidates:

“There is a big mix out there, and there are lots of different things going on, and there is not one way that was intended to be the right way. Just like there’s not one color or one flower or one vegetable or one fingerprint. There is not one that is to be the right one over all others. The variety is what fosters the creativity. And so you say, “Okay, I accept that there’s lots of variety, but I don’t like to eat cucumbers.” Don’t eat cucumbers. But don’t ask them to be eliminated and don’t condemn those who eat them. Don’t stand on corners waving signs trying to outlaw the things that you don’t like. Don’t ruin your life by pushing against. Instead, say, “I choose this instead. This does please me.” (Rye, NY, October 12, 1997)
