What is Meaning?

“meaning.

you wander through lifetimes
with your hands stretched wide
reaching for meaning
as if the harder you search
the quicker it comes.

as if meaning is something to be
found
waiting for you somewhere in the
future.

but meaning does not come
dressed up as the result
of a long and exhausting journey.
it doesn’t sit on top of mountains
waiting for those to arrive
to tell them that, only then
are they worthy.

no.
it is
here
now.

the warmth of the sun
the softness between breaths
the laughter that stretches your
cheeks
the hum of the wind between the
trees
and the way it touches your skin
clears your mind
and drops you
into your
heart.

that
is meaning.”
