Today’s invitation is to open to connection. This begins with self. Many, if not most, humans are taught not to connect with self. Many learn to lie to themselves, sometimes to make others happy, sometimes because they are too afraid to face woundings or what they have learned to fear. Some learn that connecting with self is selfish, inappropriate or even dangerous. Disconnection from self results in fear, which then shows up as various forms of resistance.

Humans are learning to see their resistance and avoidance. This is part of the unseen becoming seen. Indeed, humans now have the opportunity to completely recalibrate how they stand in and interact with this world. With recalibration, denial is released along with old coping mechanisms and connection becomes not only easier, but also sought after.

Thus, this card is an invitation into deeper self-intimacy. Intimacy with self begets trust and a new experience of safety and stability. As judgments about the self dissolve and self-compassion arises, that too is naturally extended to others.

Not only does the willingness to engage in greater intimacy with others arise, we learn to give and to receive care and love in healthier ways.

This caring and love then extends naturally out to the planet and other species.
