Let it Be Simpler
Today, I was inspired to share this post from Tim Whild. It invites us out of the mind and into simplicity. The brain loves complexity. It gives it something to do. It gives it something to fight against.
We’ve also been taught that we are never enough and that we have to continually earn our value, and for some of us our right to exist.
Combine the two and it leaves us mired in always trying to figure out what our purpose is, what our mission is, and what we have to do next in order to survive and/or succeed. It also creates significant resistance to simply being, to enjoying life, and to embracing our freedom.
That is why this question is so powerful. What if your purpose is simpler than you think? What if your purpose is to simply be you? What if your purpose is exactly what is in front of you in your experience today? What if your purpose is to express a simple kindness to one person today? What if your purpose is to experience the love of your animal(s) today? What if it is to see something beautiful? And what if these simple things are actually what changes the world? 🌎
What do you notice rise up within you as you contemplate these questions?
Do you have any resistance?
Are you skipping over it thinking “that’s nice and I have to get on with my day?”
Is something stuck within you that causes you to pause?
Is there the sense of relief? 😅
In addition to underlying programming, these questions also have the potential to reveal what and how much you are willing to allow yourself to receive.
What arises within you when the idea is a simple life is offered? Does it feel possible? Does it feel boring? Are you wiling to go deeper and suss out the why and what is underneath your responses?
There is beauty in simplicity. And truth is simple. Both will bring more freedom into our lives. 💖
